In a recent Reddit post a Subway employee that went by the name subwayworkuk invited users to ask him any Subway-related questions.

As always with these types of threads, the queries soon turned to the disgusting topics, where people were asking which items customers should avoid at all costs.

Being the honest guy that he clearly is, subwayworkuk warned that everyone should stay away from the chipotle chicken and teriyaki chicken subs. The reason, he said, is because:

Chicken is given a two day shelf life, once in the counter. However these two bypass this and get four days, and can get a little stinky.

Fuck me, that’s gross. Chicken is bad enough as it is, let alone when left to fester for days on end. And it sounds even worse in the states. Another Subway employee, this time from across the pond, said:

I was a subway employee for around a year here in the states and seeing that you guys have a 2 day shelf on Chicken teriyaki amazes me.

Our CT had a 5 day shelf and we were told that once it reaches the 5th day, to just change the date. With all of the shift changes and varying factors, we never knew how long this chicken was out (between 5-9 days). I quit after I got reprimanded for throwing out CT on the 5 day.

Wow. Glad I’m not a Subway-loving meat-eating American right now.

So there you have it – you’ve been warned. Don’t order chipotle, teriyaki or any chicken sub for that matter. In fact, don’t order Subway full-stop. It kinda sucks. Get something way more delicious like pizza.
