A Chinese university student sparked a fire in his halls of residence after he tried to hide his ‘inflatable girlfriend’ from his roommate using the ingenious tactic of setting the sex doll on fire.

The incident occurred at a dormitory building at the Hefei University of Technology in the Anhui province earlier this month.

According to the South China Morning Post, the male student was using the inflatable doll in his dorm when his roommate returned unexpectedly. He panicked and mindlessly tried to destroy the evidence by setting the sex doll alight.

Thankfully, a security guard called the fire department in time for them to turn up and extinguish the flames before too much damage was done or any students were hurt.

And so, in the process of trying to keep his sex doll a secret from his roommate, it’s ended up becoming international news instead. The good news is that the South China Morning Post has done this lad a solid by keeping him anonymous, but just imagine the stick he must be getting on campus over it.

The dormitory later sent a statement about the incident, warning other students from doing the same:

“Please do not use open flames to handle silicone items or other flammable materials in the building. Items that are no longer needed can be disposed of in the rubbish bin.”

Wise words indeed. What I can’t get my head around is that there was apparently no other way to get rid of his inflatable girlfriend than to set her on fire? Couldn’t he have shoved her under a bed or behind a door or deflated her or something? I guess it’s difficult to think straight when you’re in that much of a blind panic and moments away from your roommate from walking in on you sh@gging an inflatable sex doll. Hopefully he’s more careful when having his mail-order bride delivered a few years down the line.
