Businesses all over the world are facing an uncertain future as of now with many being forced to shut down and stop operating thanks to the Coronavirus epidemic that is enveloping the world at the moment, but some strippers from Portland have come up with a novel idea to keep the wheels turning.

The dancers from the Lucky Devil Lounge saw that dining establishments could still offer take out or delivery services and so decided to start Boober Eats PDX (what?) after their club was forced to shut its doors for the time being due to self isolation. The kitchen is open from 7pm to 1am and offers the kind of food you would probably expect from an establishment like that – steak bites, chicken fingers, mini corndogs etc – and charges a $30 delivery fee, whereby one of the dancers will rock up at your door with you meal accompanied by a security guard. I guess that would perk up your day of isolation a bit wouldn’t it?
It’s not just the dancers who have been kept in employment by this brainwave as the bartenders who used to work at the club are answering the phones and working on social media. The funniest thing is that the club owner Shon Boulden started the whole enterprise as a joke with a meme on the club’s Facebook page, but when he saw the response he realised that it could be a way to keep a lot of people in employment.
Here’s what he said to Oregon Live about it:
If someone wants to give us a couple hundred bucks to go to the coast, we’ll do it as long as the girls are taken care of.
All the calls, people are just giddy and fun.
Sometimes it’s a surprise for someone, sometimes it’s a birthday, sometimes it’s people that are really stoned.
It’s crazy. We mutated our one business into a totally different style of business.
I mean that is a pretty great story to cheer us up in these dark times isn’t it? Someone should really set up a UK version ASAP because this lockdown isn’t getting any shorter is it?
For more of the same, check out what Lil Yachty got up when he was bored during lockdown. Not really that cool to be honest.
