The wider world has pretty much universally condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but for some reason Steven Seagal has decided at this point – a good month into the war – to come out and pledge his allegiance to Russia.

You might remember that Seagal was made an honorary citizen of the country a few years ago, but the comments that he made during a 70th birthday party in Moscow are still a bit out there. Here’s a clip:

Each and every one of you, you are my family and my friends.
And I love all of you and we stand together, through thick and through thin.
I suppose that makes sense given how much Seagal has gravitated towards Russia over the past few years, but it’s still kind of weird to hear him say that and pretty much denounce his Western heritage. Of course, he probably didn’t expect anyone to film it and post it on the internet and also probably thought it was just a great opportunity for him to suck Russian dick without any real consequences, but he should have realised that someone always has a camera.
Be interesting to see how he reacts to this one and whether the West continue to welcome him back. Such a bad look for him to be out there partying during this conflict.
For more of the same, check out when Steven Seagal walked out of a BBC interview after being accused of sexual assault. Cool dude.
