It seems like a really, really long time ago that ‘Making A Murderer’ gripped the entire world as we all became engrossed in the weird small town murder case and the story of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, but the pair of them are still in jail and still trying to figure a way out.

Steven’s latest appeal sees him blaming a new suspect for the 2005 death of Theresa Halbach. Here’s the paperwork that his lawyer Kathleen Zellner submitted on Monday:

Two new witnesses in Mr. Avery’s case with new and compelling evidence about a murder mystery that has intrigued a worldwide audience.

The rush to judgment and tunnel vision that led to the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of Mr. Avery is exposed by these new witnesses who provide new and undisputed evidence that directly links (the alternate suspect) to the murder of Teresa Halbach and the framing of Mr. Avery.

Furthermore, this new evidence allows for a reconsideration of the real motive of this crime, as being a sexual homicide, which the culmination of an obsession by (the alternate) suspect with viewing thousands of image of violent, deviant pornography.

On October 31, 2005, the obsessive fantasies of (the alternate suspect) became a reality when Teresa Halbach was brutally assaulted and murdered by two rifle shots to her skull. Mr. Avery does not have to prove who committed this terrible crime to receive relief.

This is not his intent or purpose. However, he does have a right to prove he did not receive a fair trial. The new evidence, which establishes that (the alternate suspect) meets all of the Denny criteria to be a third party suspect, and the evidence of two Brady violations demonstrate that Mr. Avery was deprived of a constitutionally guaranteed right to present a complete defense to the charges against him.

Geez that’s a bit of a copout that they’re not naming who this new suspect is isn’t it? Bear in mind that they’ve already pointed the finger of blame at Halbach’s ex boyfriend, Brendan Dassey’s brother Bobby, his mother Barb and husband Scott Tadych with little to no success though and you kinda think that they might be running out of people to suggest. Who’s it gonna be this time then?

I find it highly doubtful that Avery is ever going to get off but it doesn’t seem like Zellner’s going to stop trying. The real killer must be out there completely shitting the bed for the last seven years.

Either that or mastermind Steven Avery is constantly laughing to himself about how he’s managed to convince the majority of the world that he didn’t murder Theresa Halbach. I guess we’ll never know.
