England went crashing out of a major tournament yesterday and for once it was under truly abject and humiliating circumstances, and not simply being beaten by a team that are traditionally better than ours.

Everyone was feeling distraught and embarrassed last night (and probably still are today) but there’s one man who has emerged to make you feel a bit better as he made a complete and utter twat of himself on national television during an England match. Again.
No, it isn’t Wayne Rooney or Joe Hart (although arguments for both of those two certainly exist), it’s Steve McLaren. Already revered as a complete moron for his tenure as England manager, McLaren added commentary to the list of things he isn’t very good at by going on a diatribe about how England were dominating the game only for Iceland to score as he was speaking. You couldn’t make it up:

What an absolute bellend. I suppose that kind of ability to interpret a football match was why England didn’t qualify for Euro 2008 and he got fired from Newcastle.
On a side note though, who the hell is going to be watching Steve McClaren commentating on the game in a studio on Sky Sports when the game is on free television for everyone in the country (possibly the world?) to watch? Would love to see the ratings figures for that segment.
For an example of how it’s really done, check out this Colombian commentator celebrating Bacca’s recent goal. Take note.
