We’re getting pretty battered by the hottest heatwave in history over here at the moment and everyone is sweating and complaining, but we should probably take the time out to see what’s happening in other countries and realise that we don’t actually have it so bad.

The footage below comes from in Spain in a field in the province of Zamora, where an unnamed man is desperately trying to tame the wildfires in his tractor. Unfortunately for him, the tractor becomes embroiled in flames and he’s forced to bail from it and run away on fire before he eventually manages to put it out. The fires continue to rage in the background though and his tractor is soon engulfed in them and destroyed.

Geeez. And you thought we had it bad over here with the roads melting – ain’t nothing compared to what they’re facing up to over in Spain and France. A whole different level. Surely people still can’t keep arguing that this is normal and not due to climate change/global warming?

Anyway, it was funny how whoever made that video translated tractor as ‘digging machine’ instead, but thankfully the guy in the video was taken to hospital where he was put on basic life support and then transferred to the burns unit later. It looks like he’s going to be OK, but I doubt he wants to be involved with anything like that again any time soon. Not really up to him is it though?
