South Park is back for a 19th series and this week they royally roasted Donald Trump and his current attempts to be elected President of the United States on the Republican ticket. In the episode, Donald Trump has become President of Canada and a Canadian character explains how that was allowed to happen:

There were several candidates during the Canadian election. One of them was this rash asshole who just spoke his mind.

He didn’t really offer any solutions, he just said outrageous things. We just thought he was funny.

Nobody ever thought he’d be President. It was a joke! But we just let the joke go on for too long.

He kept gaining momentum, and by the time we were ready to say, ‘Let’s get serious now, who should really be President?’ he was already being sworn into office. We weren’t paying attention! We weren’t paying attention! (*sobs*)

The subtext there is pretty plain to see: if American citizens don’t take the upcoming election seriously and don’t stop laughing at Trump and actually do something about it, then he might actually get into office. If you’re American and reading this, make sure that doesn’t happen.

Fortunately in the episode, Mr Garrison – who is running for office in America on Trump’s actual anti-immigration platform (‘Where my country gone?) – is able to sneak into Canada and rape and murder Trump, as you can see below. This allows all the Canadian refugees in America to go home.

Unfortunately that solution probably isn’t going to work in real life, so let’s just make sure it doesn’t come to that mmmkay?
