Here’s a weird story that’s come out of nowhere. Rapper Soulja Boy who hasn’t had a hit tune in years keeps Tweeting that he’s closed a $400 million deal, except he won’t say what it’s for.

Here’s what he’s been saying:
$400 million deal confirmed. I still they think they low balled me though. I was thinking 2 or 3 billion..

Loyalty over Royalty

Soulja Boy had a massive hit with ‘Crank That’ back in 2007 and even ended up on the Forbes’ list of Hip Hop Cash Kings after making over $7 million off the back of it. Most of his millions came from ringtone sales alone.
I don’t want to come straight out and say Soulja Boy is lying, but I’m not sure he’s telling the truth either. Maybe he did sign a $400 million deal, maybe he didn’t. It’s just weird to tell everyone you have and then not elaborate on it at all. Maybe he got what one of those Nigerian Prince e-mails and thinks it’s legit? Seems plausible.
At the end of the day though, surely if a $400 million deal was made in the entertainment industry, someone would be talking about it, even if Soulja Boy isn’t. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt for now though and assume Soulja Boy just banked $400 million.
Yeah, this Soulja Boy:
