Warnes Bros has decided to completely ruin The Sopranos by releasing 25-second versions of each episode on TikTok to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary. Which might seem like an OK idea if you’re a Gen Z’er with ADHD, but long-time fans of the show have described the move as “blasphemous.”
So far, the TikTok account has reached Season 2 Episode 8, which is a shame because I wanted to see how they would b@stardise Season 3’s ‘Pine Barrens’, which is probably the greatest episode of any TV show in history. Still, here’s an example of what they did to a great episode from Season One:

I mean, it’s just not the same is it? Zero suspense, zero character building, zero nuance to anything going on. The best part about The Sopranos is the little moments and details in each hour-long episode. That’s why it’s so rewatchable; you can pick up on something new with each viewing.
Still, I guess 25-second episodes are perfect if you’re a 13-year-old with 0 attention span who has no intention to watch the whole series by sitting on the couch for 100 hours. With content moving online and generally becoming shorter and shorter, they’ll probably end up turning all the classic shows into 25-second clips just to be able to convince the new generation to watch them. Sigh…
