Bit of an awkward moment in Paris last night as Sophie Ellis-Bextor performed ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ at the famous Bataclan, where 90 people were killed and 400 were wounded in a terror attack in 2015.
In fairness to Ellis-Bextor, she did acknowledge that it ‘didn’t feel right’ to sing the song at the venue, at least not without paying tribute to what happened first. Then she went ahead and performed it anyway:

Now obviously no one who paid money to go and see Sophie Ellis-Bextor perform at the Bataclan would have been surprised that she performed her most famous/only song that she’s been living off for 20 years, but still, I can understand why people would find it a bit tasteless.
Couldn’t she at least have switched up the lyrics for one night only at the Bataclan? Murder on Zidane’s floor? Burger at me nan’s door? Or would that be letting the terrorists win? Good shout leaving the explosive pyrotechnics out of her set, at least.
For the time Cardi B got paid $1 MILLION to perform half-naked for 35 minutes at a banker’s private event, click HERE.
