It’s well known that Snoop Dogg is a massive stoner and loves smoking the herb, but I would have assumed he would be keen to keep his weed money in his home country rather than sending it over to us.

This isn’t the case though as it’s been announced that Snoop has invested $10 million into a British weed company called Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies. The company investigates the medicinal properties of the drug including treatments for cancer, pain management, a number of neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s and MS and a range of inflammatory diseases.
Along with Snoop Dogg putting his money into OCT, they also announced that Patrick Stewart was joining their advisory board as a patron. Stewart has revealed in the past that he uses cannabis medicine to help deal with his arthritis. Here’s what he said about becoming a patron:

I am proud to become a patron of OCT. It’s wonderful that OCT have got together the funding that means that Britain will lead the way in what is, in my view, one of the world’s most exciting fields of medical research.
The possibilities seem to me to be virtually limitless.
Well I’m not sure about that – kinda sounds like a line he might have used in Star Trek: The Next Generation or something – but it’s great to see people taking using cannabis as a medicine seriously as there is more than enough evidence to suggest that it might actually work and be able to help a lot of people. Awesome that Snoop is getting involved too and sending his money over here to fund it. Always knew he was a straight up G.
