Snoop Dogg is probably one of most universally loved and most interesting celebrities out there, so it’s no surprise really to hear that he’s signed a deal to have a biopic of his life to be made.

Snoop is teaming up with Universal Pictures – who released the excellent ‘Straight Outta Compton’ a few years ago – and Allen Hughes (director of ‘Menace II Society’ and ‘Boyz N The Hood’) for the project that will be written by Joe Robert Cole (Black Panther, Wakanda Forever). Here’s what he had to say about it all:

I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen, and the memory I’m trying to leave behind.

It was the perfect marriage.

It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.

What a weird way to end that statement, but I suppose Snoop has always had a way with words hasn’t he? That’s why he’s a rapper.

Anyway, this sounds like it’s going to be absolutely fantastic and it’s probably another no brainer that they should hire Lakeith Stanfield to play Snoop because he absolutely killed it in ‘Straight Outta Compton’. Can feel this being absolutely wicked already.

For more of the same, check out Snoop Dogg explaining how Queen Elizabeth once came to his defence during UK tour. Hope that makes the movie.
