Whoops, it seems we’ve stirred up a hornet’s nest after confirming last week that Leo Faulkner AKA Vessel from Sleep Token used to write for Sick Chirpse in 2014-15, something that was already widely known on the internet and we were just confirming after 9 years in hopes that it would stop Sleep Token fans messaging us about it.
Amazingly, our innocent little blog post sparked up all kinds of conspiracy theories on Reddit and furious ‘I’m unfollowing!’ declarations on Facebook. Apparently, Sleep Token wanted to remain anonymous and we blew their cover? Even though you could already search ‘Sleep Token members’ on Google and get all this information before? Hey guess what Mick Foley is Cactus Jack and Clark Kent is Superman! Sorry for blowing the whole thing wide open!
Get a load of these big babies on our Facebook page:
Over on the Sleep Token Reddit page, there were suggestions that Leo Faulkner asked us to publish his identity (lol) and (my favourite) that Leo Faulkner has returned to Sick Chirpse to blog it himself. Which would have been awesome, but sadly is not the case. Then again, that’s exactly what Leo would say if he was blogging this right now. So who knows what the truth is?
Apparently, the timing of our post was interesting, though I’m not sure why exactly (note the commenter’s name ffs):
In the end, this person had the right idea:
New Sleep Token monkey avatar incoming? Watch this space…
P.S. Weirdly enough, Sleep Token announced a massive UK arena tour earlier today. Coincidence? You can sign up for pre-sale here.
