King Charles’s coronation was so lame and uneventful that the biggest story that came out of it was a rumour that a man in a comically shaggy grey mullet, crazy mustache and Jeffrey Dahmer glasses was Meghan Markle in disguise.

There’s no way you could’ve missed him if you watched the proceedings:

Well we can finally put that rumour to bed because it turns out this person isn’t Meghan Markle in disguise, but rather, Welsh composer Sir Karl Jenkins, who was invited to the coronation because one of his songs was set to be played during the ceremony.

Jenkins revealed in a TikTok this week:

“I understand there’s been a lot of interest in me since I appeared at the coronation. I was there because I’d written some music for the service.

I was quite surprised that some people thought I was Meghan Markle in disguise. Someone wrote I was there, whoever I was, to steal the crown jewels. I look this way all the time.

So that’s me. Nothing sinister about it or surprising at all.”

I guess we’re just going to have to take his word for it. Karl Jenkins is a real person from Wales who attended the coronation and Meghan Markle was at home in California looking after the kids, or whatever. Still, how hilarious would it have been if he was Meghan Markle in disguise? Kate could have rocked up behind her in the audience and ripped her wig off in front of everyone. At least something exciting would have happened. I mean, really – a whole weekend of a King’s coronation and not one viral clip? Do better, royals.
