The Sinner was one of the hottest shows on Netflix when its first season landed a couple of years ago, but as the case was wrapped up at the end of it we were left wondering whether there was any legs in it in the future.

Thankfully, Bill Pullman did return as Detective Harry Ambrose to look at a new case in the second series and expectations were met as show runner Derek Simonds delivered another slice of dark and disturbing real life horror. So much so, that the series has now been renewed for a third season with White Collar’s Matt Bomer playing the lead role.

Plot details are fairly scarce at this point – as is a release date – but we understand that Ambrose will be investigating a seemingly routine traffic accident in upstate New York, but Bomer will look to him for support in the aftermath leading to Ambrose uncovering another horrific crime. This guy just can’t catch a break really can he? All the better for us viewers though.
I imagine this will be dropping on Netflix sometime at the beginning of next year. Until then why not check out the new series of Arrested Development? What a classic.
