I don’t actually know anyone that still watches The Simpsons, but I am aware that it’s still running and I guess for it to happen and be in its 30th season that some people somewhere must still be tuning in and finding it funny?

Anyway, even though The Simpsons might not be that relevant to most people in their daily lives as it once was twenty years ago, every now and again it does something which grabs your attention. This time, it’s to do with the latest edition of their classic Halloween Treehouse Of Horror special – which is incredibly in its 30th year – and how they’re planning on doing a little spot of the episode spoofing Stranger Things.

The reveal was dropped with the release of the poster for the episode, which is apparently also the 666th one that will be made as well. What a great coincidence hey?

That actually does look pretty rad doesn’t it, but probably not enough to actually make me tune in and watch another episode of the show again. Just can’t see myself ever enjoying it again to be honest, but it’s cool that they’re still doing stuff like this.

The top half of the poster also parodies the recent Guillermo del Toro film ‘The Shape Of Water’, with Selma playing the lonely housewife coupled with one of those alien dudes that’s always trying to take over the world. Will probably be vageuly funny as well, but still reckon my ship has sailed with The Simpsons though – maybe it’s enough to encourage you to tune in though?

Not sure what the thing about Homer turning into a monkey is all about, but I guess if I knew my horror maybe I would have more of a clue. Anyone want to enlighten me?
