Sophie Eastwood, formerly known as Daniel Eastwood, transitioned from male to female after being jailed for life in 2004 for strangling their cellmate to death with a pair of shoelaces. Sophie was due to be released a month later from a young offenders’ institution for dangerous driving, but the murder meant they’d know be spending life in prison.

Since then, the 36-year-old has told staff at Polmont prison in Brightons, Scotland, that they want to be treated as an infant, and has requested to wear diapers and have all meals pureed. Eastwood has also demanded guards hold their hand when they are escorted to and from their cell.

According to the Daily Record, prison bosses are actually treating the requests seriously and have already given Eastwood a dummy. A source told the paper:

Eastwood is a complex person and intelligent but she is pretty demanding on the resources of the prison and enjoys being the centre of attention.

It’s difficult to know if she really does feel a natural inclination to be treated like a baby or if it’s just some kind of attention seeking.

Modern prisons are very tuned in to human rights and the legal implications they throw up, so it’s being given proper consideration.

While it’s unknown if Eastwood’s condition has been clinically examined, people who identify as babies usually suffer from paraphilic infantilism AKA ‘adult baby syndrome’. It’s a sexual fetish that sees adults role-playing and regressing to a child-like state, often to help them deal with childhood trauma and abandonment issues.

So I guess there’s two ways of looking at this – either Eastwood is a genuine transgender infant who should be treated as such or he’s a man who has proven himself to be of very bad character and is doing whatever he can to manipulate, disrupt and confuse the system, like being a 36-year-old man who claims to be a transgender baby girl. Seems prison bosses have no choice but to respect Eastwood’s self-identification no matter how ridiculous it sounds because of how sensitive the topic of self-ID is in today’s culture. It’s just annoying that this killer is being indulged in prison when they’re there to be punished, not live out their weird fantasies. I guess he’s just playing the game society created.
