If you hadn’t heard, NFL legend and popular podcaster Shannon Sharpe, 56, is being sued by his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend for assault, sexual assault, battery, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, which includes filming their sexual encounters without consent, and sending them to his buddies without her knowledge.
Gabriella Zuniga, who has an OnlyFans page and 500,000 followers on Instagram, claims she began dating Sharpe when he was 55 and she was 19, and endured a ‘rocky consesual relationship’ with him. She is now suing him for $50 million for what he put her through, which comes just after news that Sharpe was about to sign an $100m podcast deal. Smart girl!
Smarter still, Gabriella recorded phone calls and voicemails between herself and Sharpe, and has now released a couple in which he says he’s going to “choke the sh*t out” of her:

In another leaked audio, he repeats the threats and declares: “big black man chokes small white woman”:

Now I don’t know if this was some roleplay kink they had going on, but it’s definitely not a good look in the context of a $50 million lawsuit by the aforementioned small white woman, who also happens to be 35+ years younger than you.
It gets worse/trickier, though. According to files released by the defense teams, Gabriella texted Sharpe on January 2, 2025, saying: ‘I cried when u left because I begged you to put a condom on and not put it in my a** and u didn’t listen. I don’t care what our history is, no means no shannon. Idk [I don’t know] how to process this.’
The evening prior, Gabriella allegedly text Sharpe demanding he made a payment to her, which she appeared to suggest had previously been promised.
‘You’ve got 5 mins to ft [FaceTime] me back with the money or there’s no deal and ur never touching this young white p**** again. i’m not playing with u shannon.’
The files claim she then sent a graphic photo before saying: ‘or this ahole. i would get to calling if i were you…3 mins left’.
After threatening that his time was running out, she is then quoted as saying: ‘times up, no deal. goodbye.’
But Sharpe is said to have text back: ‘I’m punishing that ahole 2morrow. Haven’t fed you up the a** in months’.
Yikes. Hardcore stuff. Now according to Shannon Sharpe’s defence team, all this talk about choking and b*ttholes is indeed just roleplay, and this girl is basically shaking down their client for $50 million now that their relationship ended (mercifully, I might add). So I guess it’s a classic he said/she said situation at the moment, and that’s something the courts are going to have to come to a conclusion about.

Now this just complicates things even further. Did Gabriella Zuniga turn down $10 million because she’s a gold digger who wants to rinse as much cash as possible out of this guy, or is she genuinely a victim who’s holding out for real justice? Is Shannon Sharpe making that offer in the first place because he’s guilty of what she’s accusing him of, or does just want to make the situation go away regardless?
Again, that’s for the courts to decide. If only he’d listened to Monique’s advice…
