Whenever a well loved television series ends after an epic run, talk inevitably turns to the future reunion special – especially if that show is an ensemble comedy – so it’s no surprise that people have been talking about getting the gang from ‘Scrubs’ back together ever since the show went off the air in 2010.

These things are generally pretty hit or miss, but that doesn’t stop people pining to see what had happened to the characters that they fell in love with, so anyone interested in knowing the fates of J.D., Elliot, Dr Cox and the rest of them will be happy to hear that creator Bill Lawrence feels like a reunion movie is inevitable. Lawrence was speaking to Variety when he said the following:

I think it’s inevitable that it happens. The joke of it with us is the first time that six months go by that we don’t hang out, we’ll end up doing a Scrubs reunion.
In the greatest way, the cast of that show and the writers are so good that they’re all working. And the main reason to do something like that isn’t the work, it’s because we actually love hanging out.
We’re going to do it because we’re lucky enough people care.If you’re lucky enough to be able to work with the people you love, run to it.
Sounds like it’s only a matter of time really doesn’t it, although Lawrence is a pretty busy guy as he’s also the brains behind ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘Shrinking’ and a new Apple TV show called ‘Bad Monkey’ starring Vince Vaughn as a one time detective who gets demoted to a restaurant inspector in Southern Florida – sounds interesting. Might be a matter of quite a long time in that case then sadly but at least we know that it’s going to happen one day. Whether it will be any good is anyone’s guess though.
