Every single woman who’s ever had any kind of interaction with Russell Brand seems to have a story about him molesting them or, at the very least, being inappropriate with them. So it comes as little surprise that the 50-year-old media personality has today been charged with rape and multiple other sex crimes.

As per the Metropolitan Police, Brand has been charged with one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape and two counts of sexual assault in four separate incidents spanning from 1999 to 2005.

Brand is charged with the rape of a woman in Bournemouth in 1999 and the oral rape and sexual assault of a woman in Westminster, London in 2004.

The other charges of indecently assaulting a woman in 2001 and sexually assaulting another woman between 2004 and 2005 are also alleged to have taken place in Westminster, London.

Jaswant Narwal, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said:

‘We have today authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Russell Brand with a number of sexual offences.

‘We carefully reviewed the evidence after a police investigation into allegations made following the broadcast of a Channel 4 documentary in September 2023.

Russell Brand

‘We have concluded that Russell Brand should be charged with offences including rape, sexual assault and indecent assault.

‘These relate to reported non-recent offences between 1999 and 2005, involving four women.

‘The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the defendant has the right to a fair trial.

‘It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.’

Brand will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 2, to face these charges, and you have to think it’s not looking good for him. Especially when there’s a whole documentary out there called ‘Russell Brand: In Plain Sight’ which focuses on his treatment of women, and with every other female he’s ever worked with on TV having a story to tell about their experiences with him (including Vanessa Feltz and Lorraine Kelly).

In any case, what an unbelievable fall from grace for a guy who was once one of the funniest and most popular entertainers out of the UK. The guy went from lovable lothario to born-again Christian conspiracy influencer as soon as all these charges hit, which pretty much sums it all up really.

He knew that this storm was coming and so immediately aligned himself with the one group that would insulate him and claim that any allegation against him was part of a conspiracy because he holds right wing viewpoints (which he never held previously). It’s really so sad if you think about it.

Well anyway, we’ll see what happens at Brand’s court case which kicks off in May. Will they throw the booky wook at him?
