In more proof that the real world is becoming too insane to satirise, former Trump lawyer and NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani was revealed as The Masked Singer during a TV taping of the new season this week, prompting judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke to walk off stage in protest.
Fellow judges Nicole Scherzinger and Jenny McCarthy at least saw the funny side of things, and remained on stage to banter with Giuliani.
Naturally, Twitter is not happy about his inclusion:
The Masked Singer has no business allowing Rudy Giuliani on the air. He’s not a “controversial figure.” He’s under federal criminal investigation for seditious conspiracy against the United States. He’s a terrorist. Props to Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke for walking out in protest.

People who tried to steal the election should not be celebrated or normalized on national TV shows.
The Masked Singer made a huge mistake having Rudy Giuliani on.
Disgusting.

Whoopi suspended for two weeks and Giuliani on the Masked Singer. Everything makes sense. I feel safe. I feel protected. I feel loved. ❤️

Maybe I’m being facetious, but isn’t Rudy Giuliani as The Masked Singer actually hilarious? Think about it. It’s Rudy Giulani – the guy who got honey-trapped by a Bulgarian model on Borat 2 – wearing a mascot costume and singing Genie In A Bottle or whatever. Formerly one of the most powerful men in NYC making a tit of himself in order to redeem himself to the American public. Sadly, Kevin Jeong and Robin Thicke just had to “do the right thing” and walk off. Well keep on walking because The Masked Singer actually did something funny and unpredictable for once!
The episode should air at some point next month so we’ll see how it goes down, but it doesn’t sound like the general public is too happy about the news. Wonder how that will translate into TV ratings for the show?
Never forget:
