Rose McGowan has appeared in a whole bunch of movies and even directed a couple too, but it seems like she’s now leaving that all behind to pursue a career in music:
In the last few years I’ve actually released some songs under different names, just me pranking the public. I woke up one day and realised I hated acting and that I’d always hated it. Imagine, it’s predominantly men whose scripts get done so it was mostly a male voice coming out of my mouth for 15 years.
I suppose that makes sense? Anyway, regardless of that Rose has released one of the freakiest and weirdest music videos of all time for her debut song RM486. The song itself is sort of soft electro pop in the style of slower La Roux / Ladyhawke / Little Boots and it’s the kind of thing you might put on if you invite a girl back to your house and want to get in the mood with a glass of wine in your lounge. It’s decent.
The video though is something that you would not really want to put on under any circumstances really. In it, Rose McGowan is dressed up as loads of different version of herself (I guess) which include a Lady Gaga/evil clown hybrid, one of the sex slaves from 300, a completely white version of herself and one completely covered in blood too. Oh, and she’s topless too of course. I guess it’s ‘arty’ but it’s also completely freaky and weird.

Haunting huh? I suppose it fits in with the song but it’s pretty messed up and kinda scary actually.
The director of the video Jonas Akerlund is actually responsible for some of the most iconic music videos of our time: Madonna’s ‘Ray Of Light,’ The Prodigy’s ‘Smack My B*tch Up,’ Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful,’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ and ‘Paparazzi,’ so it’s no real surprise that something like this has emerged from a collaboration between him and Rose McGowan. However, we didn’t expect it to be this weird.
