Now that Floyd Mayweather has retired from boxing, I suppose a few of us were wondering whether or not he was going to continue his war of words with Ronda Rousey over who had the most money/who was the best fighter/nothing important really.

Well, if it’s up to Ronda then the feud will be over because she’s frankly had enough of it. Ronda sat down with boxing magazine The Ring to clarify the situation following Floyd’s retirement:

I see all these people [saying] ‘Keep Floyd’s name outta your mouth, you’re just using him for attention!’ But you know what, the thing is, I’ve been as respectable as possible when it comes to his boxing and who he is as an athlete. I’ve never said a bad thing about it. I still think he’s one of the greatest boxers of all time.

I’m more of a response kind of a person. And I felt disrespected at a point, and that needs a response, and I responded to it. And it’s not like I walk into things, ‘Hey everyone, let’s talk about Floyd!’ I respond to questions that I’m asked. And I responded to his actions. Until that, every time I was asked, ‘He’s a great boxer.’ And that’s it, y’know.

I’m not trying to provoke anything. With everything going on, I don’t need his name for attention. I’m getting plenty of attention doing other things, yknow? If anything it’s getting a bit repetitive to a point where what am I really getting out of it? Nothing.

As for fighting him, although I think I can beat anyone in the world, I don’t think any co-ed combat sports event is a good idea.

So, it doesn’t look like we’ll ever be seeing them fight any time soon, although we all knew that already anyway didn’t we?
