As we all know by now, Ronda Rousey’s undefeated streak came to an end following her second round loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 a few months back.

Recently Dana White confirmed that Ronda would be back to challenge for the title, which should make for a big time rematch between the two if Holly still has the title by then (likely).

Rousey appeared on Ellen the other night and opened up about just how terrible she felt following her loss.
I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself, and that exact second I’m like, “I’m nothing. What do I do anymore? And no one gives a shit about me anymore without this.”
To be honest, I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.

That’s the thing with professional fighting like MMA and boxing. Once you lose that loss hangs over your head for a long time. It’s not like football or any other sport where you lose and then just play again a few days later and redeem yourself. When you lose on a UFC PPV you lose in front of the whole world and you stay a loser until the next time you win. That’s a hell of a lot of pressure to deal with, especially if everyone thought you were unbeatable beforehand. Your confidence literally goes from 100 to 0 in the space of a second.
But that’s what makes MMA and competitive fighting in general so exciting. The day will come when Conor McGregor gets knocked the fuck out for the first time and he’ll know exactly how Ronda was feeling. Will be interesting to see how he handles it.
No doubt she’ll be working on her strike game now that she knows what Holly brings to the table. Can’t wait.
