We’ve been banging on about the imminent rise of the robots for ages, but the nerds who build them won’t listen to us, even after the video evidence that showed Google’s Atlas robot can get back on its feet without assistance after being knocked down.

Not only that, we had a Japanese killer robot get away too close to Barack Obama than he should have been allowed any right to.

Well since that wasn’t enough to convince people to stop pumping money into creating these robots, maybe this video of Hanson Robotics’ Sophia is.

Sophia has 62 facial and neck architectures and a patented silicon skin called Frubber. She has cameras in her eyes and allow her to RECOGNISE FACES and make eye contact. She can even engage in conversation using speech recognition software and is fitted with something called ‘Character Engine AI’ software, which gives her her own personality.

So obviously that’s not good news. Not good news at all. OK some might say that the robot was “joking” when she said she’s destroy all humans, but we all know there’s never a truer word said in jest (or however the saying goes). Plus look at those eyes — completely soul-less serial killer eyes.
