It’s that time of the year where suddenly everything is Christmas themed, although I must admit I never thought I would see the day that we saw a Christmas themed doner kebab. Why argue with drunken 4am perfection?

We’re not talking about that kind of doner kebab though here, as Leeds based I Am Doner have sought to change the perception of the kebab as a late night drunken snack and into a sought after delicacy of its own. Although it seems as though they’ve already achieved this – they recently ranked first in the national kebab awards – the next step on their quest to do this is with the Christmas Dinner Doner Kebab.
You can probably imagine what this consists of, but just in case you’re unsure, here’s the official line along with some beautiful pictures of the dish:

I Am Döner takes pride in producing good quality kebabs, showcasing influence and inspiration from all over the world, and now embracing the Christmas spirit with the Christmas Dinner Döner Kebab.
I believe it’s the first of its kind and it contains honey and sage roast turkey with all the trimmings: roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, parsnip crisps, bacon fries, pork stuffing, turkey gravy and cranberry mayonnaise – all wrapped up in freshly homemade bread and made to order.
There’s also a Vegetarian Crimbo Dinner Doner, containing Quorn, roast vegetables and potatoes, parsnip crisps, bacon frazzles, sage and onion stuffing, vegetarian gravy and cranberry mayonnaise. You can get both of them gluten free too.
Wow – sounds incredible although I’m not sure it’s going to trump my actual Christmas dinner, or if the place is even open on Christmas day to give me the option. There’s definitely eight weeks to indulge in it before it’s off the menu though, if you know what I mean.
