Here’s The Brutal Way Riyad Mahrez Told His Tearful Wife That They Were Moving To Saudi Arabia

Riyad Mahrez spent the last 10 years in England winning the Premier League (once with Leicester City and four times with Manchester City), and so after winning the Treble with City in 2023, he decided to accept a ludicrous £750,000-a-week offer from Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League to become one of its new big name stars.

Which is fair enough really, but it looks like he made the decision all on his own without consulting wife Taylor Ward (daughter of former footballer Ashley Ward) first. Here’s Taylor recalling the moment Riyad Mahrez broke the news to her, and his hilariously blunt response to it:

“Part of the game innit” – lol, classic. Just such an outrageous response to your crying wife after basically telling her to pack her bags and leave her entire life behind in Manchester because they’re about to move to the other side of the world, and she doesn’t get a say in the matter.

The clip comes from upcoming Amazon Prime series ‘Married To The Game’, which follows WAGs around on their adventures. So at least she’s got that to keep her busy in Saudi Arabia, I guess. Then again if the Jordan Henderson situation is anything to go by, it may not be long before Riyad Mahrez tells Taylor Ward to pack her bags again so they can head over to Spain or France or even back to England. Or maybe they’ll both decide the money’s too good to ever leave? Doesn’t look like she’s having too bad a time, to be fair…
