The trans debate is one that politicians seem to tip toe around quite a lot, so it was quite surprising to see Rishi Sunak come out with this quote during a Tory conference speech this week:

Does Rishi Sunak care about the trans issue one way or another? Probably not, but either position you take is sure to guarantee you plenty of votes come election time. Turns out Sunak was also secretly filmed a few months back cracking jokes about women’s penises, so I guess he’d already made his stance pretty clear (in ‘private’ at least):

Will be interesting to see how much of a vote winner (or loser) this is for the Tories if it’s a main focus going into the next election. Which side of the debate will the average voter sway to? Maybe there are other, more pressing issues that will decide that one.
