Most of the country was in despair yesterday as Rishi Sunak’s Spring Statement revealed even less than the bare minimum of help for people in this country faced with the incoming cost of living crisis and now, to rub their faces in it even more it looks like the guy has never ever even been shopping in his life and doesn’t know how to use a contactless card.

Rishi was trying to do a little clip to appear like a normal man of the people yesterday following his statement in which he went into a shop and paid for a can of Coca Cola with his contactless card. Unfortunately for Sunak though, he tried to scan his card through the glass between him and the cashier onto the barcode scanner, making him appear oh so relatable to your everyday civilian that goes to the shops every day and knows exactly where the contactless card reader is located and what it looks like.

Thankfully though, the shopkeeper was there to point out his mistake and help him out, but even then Rishi didn’t understand and tried to scan his Coke can on the card reader. There’s a lot going on here in a two second clip:

Lol. I suppose we shouldn’t really be surprised that a billionaire (Sunak is married to a woman who is richer than the Queen and maybe the richest woman in the UK I think I read somewhere) has no idea what it’s like to go on a regular shopping trip that most of us do every single day. I suppose by that inference we shouldn’t really be surprised that he has no clue how the current energy price hikes are going to affect the average family in this country and shouldn’t be surprised that his Spring Statement has reflected this. Gonna be a tough year, thoughts and prayers.
