We’ve covered some really dumb ‘sports’ on Sick Chirpse over the years and I don’t want to get carried away and say that this is the dumbest, but it’s definitely up there.

Everyone knows what a belly flop is but I never thought you could make it into a sport where people judge how good your belly flop is. Apparently I’m completely wrong though and this has been going on for some time in Norway, where the world championships were again hosted last week.

They call it death diving and you can understand why because it’s gonna leave a nasty mark for everyone involved. Seriously though, some of these jumps are absolutely spectacular so you could definitely do worse than killing five minutes and watching the video below:

Yeowch. It’s almost as if these guys are professional divers that just can’t work out how to enter the water gracefully so are just doing the belly flop technique instead. Having said that a lot of them do curl up just before they enter the water for educe the damage which is a bit pussy if you ask me. They should win judging by how red their chests are after they smack into the water if you ask me.
