Christmas Day is only a week away and for most of us that means we’ll open our presents, eat a massive dinner and then spend the rest of the day lounging around watching television and arguing with our families – and quite possibly this year we could be arguing about the new Netflix Ricky Gervais special that’s dropping on Xmas day itself.

There’s always a debate about what to watch on Christmas – people can normally settle on Eastenders at least – and Gervais is somehow still popular enough that you can see millions of people tuning into the special which centres around his recent ‘Armageddon’ live show at the London Palladium. Gervais by his own admission has become more risque and controversial with his standup in latter years, so has decided to issue the following warning about the show himself to try and avoid getting any grief over the festive period for the jokes that he’s making during it.
Or more likely just to try and drum up some hype about it as by his own admission, he can’t be bothered to do any interviews about it this time around.
In this show, I talk about sex, death, paedophilia, race, religion, disability, free speech, global warming, the holocaust, and Elton John. If you don’t approve of jokes about any of these things, then please don’t watch. You wont enjoy it and you’ll get upset. pic.twitter.com/kYXBlZRggW

Wow that’s just so wacky and controversial isn’t it? Just what we need on Christmas Day when Dad is on the Bailey’s right? Can’t wait to get into an argument about trans ideology or Brexit or the holocaust or Elton John or whatever else Gervais decides to troll us about. Should be a real hoot.
In fairness to Ricky Gervais, he is pretty funny so it’s probably a fairly decent way to spend some of your Christmas day until ‘Eastenders’ comes on instead of ‘Call The Midwife’ or whatever other trash your family is trying to make you watch. Expect Netflix viewing figures to go absolutely through the roof.
For more of the same, check out when Ricky Gervais slammed cancel culture and compared it to road rage. Hardly surprising is it?
