I kinda thought the days of eating challenges were over thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic as more and more people seem to only be going to restaurants if they’re part of the government’s (now defunct) Eat Out To Help Out scheme, but thankfully at least one is keeping them going.

The place in question is Madihah’s Takeaway in Workington, Cumbria who are selling the biggest burger I’ve ever heard of in this country. It doesn’t have a name yet, but it’s 32,000 calories, weighs two stone and features 24lb of beef and 30 bacon rashers.

It’ll normally set you back £30 – which actually sounds pretty decent considering how much you get – but if you eat it in an hour then you won’t be charged for it. Here’s what owner Kyle Barlow had to say about the challenge:

We have been putting the odd challenge on here and there but this time I wanted to do something that was unbeatable.

The beef alone is nearly 30,000 calories, the cheese is 2,000 calories, so even just eating the cheese will be a challenge.

We have had other challenges in the past but this one if definitely the biggest and I’m quite certain there isn’t another take away in the country putting something like this on.

I am 100 percent certain that nobody will finish it, we have put 56 burgers together to make one giant beast of a meal.

If you can finish then it’s free.

We’re looking forward to kicking it off and hope that plenty of people accept the challenge and try it.

We had multiple people trying or last challenge and they were in shock when they saw it because they underestimated the size, and this new challenge is three times the size.

Realistically this should be eaten between four or five people, but if someone does finish it I have got no problem with giving them their money back and crowning them the challenge champion.

Yeah I mean it does look like it’ll be next to impossible for anyone to finish that. 32,000 calories is like the recommended intake for a two weeks worth of eating or something isn’t it? You gotta be a mad man to even attempt that but hopefully we at least get some good video content of people trying and failing to eat it. Although given how close we are teetering to another lockdown, seems like that might be unlikely too. So it goes.

For more of the same, check out the world’s most expensive burger. Bit different.
