Ahead of their highly-anticipated showdown on August 5th, Jake Paul and Nate Diaz sat down for the first of what I’m sure will be several press conferences to build as much hype for the fight as possible.
At one point, a reporter from BETR Media named Derek decided to casually disrespect Nate Diaz and attempt to set up his own fight with Nate’s brother Nick:

Pretty cringe moment, and we can only hope that footage of Nate Diaz’s buddies pummeling Derek after the presser turns up online later today. This is Derek btw in case you thought he’s in any way serious:
It does turn out however that BETR Media is a gambling platform co-owned by Jake Paul himself, and so Jake probably put his reporter up to it in order to wind Diaz up (which worked, to be fair). Jake did actually interject afterwards, telling the press conference he would ‘fire’ Derek:
He works for my company. I’ll handle that later.
I’m sorry about that Nate. I’ll fire him later.
Derek, shut up. Shut up.
The first official Jake Paul/Nate Diaz staredown then followed, which was pretty awkward in itself:

Here’s hoping Nate does the business, eh?
