It’s safe to say that Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most eagerly anticipated video games of all time, and one of the biggest questions that we were faced with was just when we would actually be able to get our hands on it. We knew that it was being developed – we just had no idea when it was actually going to become available for us to play.

Well, today that question has finally been answered after Rockstar posted the following statement on their website:

Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

Damn. I was hoping that it was going to be out in time for Easter, that was when everyone was thinking it was going to drop.

Still, Rockstar have proven countless times that all good things do come to those who wait, so I’ve no doubt that when we do finally get our hands on Red Dead Redemption 2 it’s going to be nothing short of the best game of all time. Calling it now.
