Giger’s work is in part inspired by his own personal night terrors and sleep disorders which kind of makes sense.
He received an Oscar for his work on Alien in 1980 and has made multiple album covers for bands; his art definitely suits music of the metal variety and has appeared on covers for Carcass, Celtic Frost, Danzig and the Dead Kennedys. He was also commissioned to make a microphone stand for Korn’s front-man Jonathon Davis.
Whether you dig Giger’s bio-mechanical art or not, you can’t help but be impressed by the depth and breadth of dark imagery he’s puked out of his brain.
