Raheem Sterling’s transfer saga has been rumbling on for a few months now as he refuses to sign a new contract with Liverpool, insisting it isn’t about the money but is more about the club’s ability to win trophies.
Whilst that might (MIGHT) be true, most people are criticising him for being a dickhead about it in the public eye amid both sides leaking stories about various negotiations that have been going on this season. The latest person to wade in to the debate was Jamie Carragher, who had this to say on Monday Night Football this past week:

Ouch. Pretty tough words from the Liverpool legend, probably harsh but fair though. Predictably after getting pretty much singled out and rinsed in this segment, Raheem’s agent Aidy Ward wasn’t too happy and took the extraordinary step of conducting an interview with the Evening Standard in which he straight up called Jamie Carragher a knob and revealed that Raheem wouldn’t be signing any deal with Liverpool, even if it was for £900K a week. I’m sure he might reconsider that offer if it did appear, but it’s the rant that’s the real talking point here and you can read it below:
I don’t care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I don’t care.
He is definitely not signing. He’s not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing.
My job is to make sure I do the best with them (my clients). If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised it does not matter.
Carragher is a knob. Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players – none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant.
I am not worried. Worried is making a decision not knowing what is going to happen. Every Premier League club will make a bid for him.
Yeah I’m not sure every Premier League club could afford him mate, but I see what you’re saying. Bitchy.
Looks like Raheem is going to be on his way this summer. He probably wants to go somewhere where it’s easier to pick up nitrous oxide, after he was videoed indulging in it recently.
