If you watched the News At Ten on ITV last night, you may have noticed presenter Rageh Omaar having a tough time getting his words out and just sounding very off and clunky in general. Here’s a clip where you can clearly tell that something isn’t right with the man:

Amazingly, ITV kept him on air, and later on in the program he couldn’t even say goodbye properly:

Sure enough, ITV have now released a statement addressing everyone’s concerns about Rageh Omaar, and confirmed he is receiving medical treatment after feeling ‘unwell’ while presenting:
‘We are aware that viewers are concerned about Rageh Omaar’s wellbeing.’
‘Rageh became unwell while presenting News at Ten on Friday and is now receiving medical care.’
‘He thanks everyone for their well wishes.’
So it’s still unclear what happened to him exactly, but most people seem to be guessing that the 56-year-old was mid-stroke. Whatever happened, I’m sure we’ll hear in due time. ITV will probably have to answer questions though as to why they let him soldier on through the broadcast instead of having someone swap seats with him or something.
