When it comes to iconic bands, there aren’t too many out there that are more iconic than Rage Against The Machine, who pretty much single handedly invented a new genre of music and a new style of guitar playing.

They may have split up back at the start of the millennium, but they’ve revealed the they’ve been open to playing massive reunion shows before and it looks like that time has come round again as they’ve just been announced as one of the headliners of the Coachella festival over in California next Easter. Bearing in mind Coachella actually looks like the lamest collection of rich doofuses in history standing around watching bands that they don’t really care about, I would argue that this is a questionable decision from RATM given their politics, but I suppose they’ve been off the scene for a while now and probably won’t really need to do anything for a while with the massive pay cheques that they receive from their performances. Fight the power!

Hopefully this means that they might be tempted to make the jaunt over to Europe for some shows, but if you’ve got your heart set on seeing them and are making the trip to Coachella, you can check out the rest of the lineup in the post above. Highlights include Charli XCX, Lil Was X, Carly Rae Jepsen, Run The Jewels, Fatboy Slim and Disclosure. Kill me now.
For more of the same, check out when someone mashed up Rage Against The Machine and Vanessa Carlton and it actually sounded good. Trust.
