A petition has racked up 20,000+ signatures to get this Stockport bus driver his job back after he was sacked following his reaction to this mouthy teen racially abusing and getting physical with him.

Obviously it’s never nice to see these things turn physical, but boy was that lad asking for trouble. Of course he only got brave because he was counting on the bus driver not being daft enough to hit him, but in the end he’s lucky he didn’t get KO’d completely.
On the other hand, a bus driver working with the public should have enough self-control to be able to walk away from a situation like this. He even threatened to kill the kid! Which I don’t blame him for thinking, but it’s not a great look to say that out loud to a child, even if that child is being extremely antagonistic.
Still, to lose his job over it? That seems incredibly harsh. How about this young person gets taught some manners instead? Sign the petition to save the bus driver’s job here if you feel inclined.
