If you’re of a certain generation, then there’s absolutely no way that you didn’t spend a whole bunch of your youth bashing buttons on a controller and trying to make Steve Cabbalero and Rodney Mullen perform heelflip after manual after Japan Air after heelflip whilst trying to beat your mate at SKATE. There’s just no way.

That’s why it’s always great when one of these videos comes along, where professional skaters try to recreate one of the legendary levels from ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ in real life. Whilst ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3’ isn’t as iconic as the first two games in the series, it did feature one of the best levels in the history of the franchise in the abandoned airport where you could tear it up on moving sidewalks, runways, jet bridges and the luggage carts.

There was only one thing for it, Red Bull decided to grab Jake Wooten, Kareem Campbell (who’s actually in the game), Alex Sorgente, Brighton Zuener, and Vincent Mathero and recreate the level in the abandoned Old New Orleans airport. The results are pretty awesome and Campbell himself was especially impressed:

From the course, to the tarmac, to the Red Bull plane and the jam session… it’s unreal.

It’s something I don’t think anyone can recreate, except in a video game.

That’s kinda weird because…..he just recreated it?

Anyway, the video is completely phat. Favourite part is definitely when they skate down the jetway and jump onto the ramp. Love that bit.
