The prison guard sex tape out of HMP Wandsworth was one of the most viral videos on the internet last year, featuring an inmate at the London prison and a female guard, who has this week been sentenced to 15 months in prison.

Linda De Sousa, 31, was on duty at HMP Wandsworth when she entered the prisoner’s cell and had sex with him, while another inmate filmed the whole thing and smoked a joint, occasionally saying things like “do your thing bruv.”

Linda’s face, vagina, badge number and wedding ring are all on full display during the video, and so she was never really beating the misconduct charges, which resulted in her 15-month sentencing at Isleworth Crown Court this week.

There was plenty of subplot to the drama; Linda De Sousa is a married swinger whose husband may or may not have known that she was also hooking up with convicted criminals at work, and her co-star/inmate Linton Weirich has a heavily pregnant girlfriend at home who had to be hospitalised from the stress of seeing her man go viral in a prison sex tape.

Linda will spend half her time in custody and the rest on licence, so it’s not all bad news. She’s also entitled to a 95-day reduction after it was revealed that she had been wearing an electronic tag for 190 days. Result!

While having sex with a prison inmate on duty is crazy in its own right, what really boggles the mind is that Linda allowed another inmate to film the whole thing. It’s 2025 (well, 2024 at the time) – if something is getting filmed on someone’s smartphone, it’s ending up on the internet 10/10 times.

One new detail we discovered at the hearing was that Linda de Sousa also caught some evidence of the tryst on her own prison bodycam, which seems like just a bit of an oversight on her part. She also tried to flee to Madrid the day after the tape went viral, but was arrested at Heathrow Airport before boarding her flight.

All that being said, I do feel quite bad for her, and 15 months does seem like a harsh sentence (even if she will end up serving less than half of it). Then again, if a male prison guard was convicted of doing the same thing with a female inmate, he’d probably get 10 years. Maybe Linda can pay it forward by seducing a guard at whichever prison she’s being held in?
