Prince Harry Says It’s Prince William’s Fault That He Wore A Nazi Costume In 2005

Seems Prince Harry is really going IN on big bro William in his upcoming book ‘Spare’, with a further leak now showing he apportions some blame to Will & Kate for his Nazi uniform scandal back in 2005.

Having already described an incident where he claims Prince William turned up at his home and beat him up, Harry now claims his bro and sister-in-law were at least partly responsible for him wearing a Nazi outfit to a fancy dress party, which he still gets grief over to this day.

Harry was 20 years old when The Sun newspaper published this front-page photo of him:

The picture was taken at a costume party with a “Native and Colonial” theme, where William was also a guest and was dressed in a homemade lion outfit. In one section of his book, obtained by Page Six, Harry writes about choosing an outfit, revealing that it was a toss-up between a pilot uniform or a Nazi uniform.

“I phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said,” Harry writes, adding that when he went home and tried it on for them. “They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.”

Although the Duke of Sussex has called the Nazi incident “one of the biggest mistakes in my life,” one senior publishing source who has read ‘Spare’ told Page Six:

“It’s strange as you would think that Harry would take ownership of this and just move on and not drag his brother into it, but he makes it clear that he feels strongly about William’s role in the scandal.”

Royal Historian Robert Lacey had previously written that the first sign of trouble between the brothers came when Harry was forced to bear the brunt of public outrage over his Nazi costume — even though William helped him choose it:

“Harry chose his costume in conjunction with his elder brother — the future King William V, then 22, who had laughed all the way back to Highgrove (Charles’ country home) with the younger sibling he was supposed to be mentoring — and then onwards to the party together.

The young prince began re-evaluating his elder brother’s involvement and the unfairness of William’s subsequent emergence smelling of roses.”

Seems Harry has always felt resentful that William got away from the situation so lightly, since he apparently coaxed him into wearing the outfit in the first place. Understandable really. Still, to revisit the incident in his book almost 20 years later and throw his brother under the bus over it? Not sure that’s completely necessary but as long as it helps Harry move on from it, I guess. Will he actually move on though? Probably not.

‘Spare’ is out next Tuesday and will undoubtedly bring us further Royal-related drama. William already beat the shxt out of you once Harry (allegedly), don’t make him do it again!
