With Amazon cancelling ‘The Grand Tour’ and ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ and severing ties with the presenter altogether, Jeremy Clarkson has been in damage control mode, revealing he had e-mailed Harry and Meghan (on Christmas morning, no less) to apologise for the article he wrote about Meghan a few weeks back.

Well, Harry and Meghan have now acknowledged Clarkson’s apology via a statement shared by their spokesperson, which reads as follows:

Doesn’t sound like they’re ready to lift their foot off his neck just yet, does it? Which is fair enough really given the things he wrote, but it does suck that The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm had to be cancelled because of it. Can’t we just stop him writing dumb articles for The Sun instead?

Don’t get me wrong, I find Harry and Meghan as annoying as the next person, but Clarkson’s initial apology was probably the most insincere apology in history (in fact it was more of a troll job than anything), and so it’s clear he only smartened up once the backlash really began and his career came under threat. Here’s the statement he released earlier today which was blatantly put out to coincide with Amazon’s announcement that they were cutting him off:

Best of luck on your future endeavours, I guess? Who knows, maybe they’ll move The Grand Tour elsewhere once this dies down a little bit.
