Chelsea have made the biggest splash to date, signing striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan from AC Milan. They have also agreed a £58 million fee for Christian Pulisic, although the forward has been loaned back to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.

The Blues face a battle to hang onto Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the winger currently priced at 1/2 to sign for Bayern Munich. The youngster has handed in a transfer request at Stamford Bridge in a bid to force through a £35m move.

Arsenal are also in the market for new players, with James Rodriguez andDenis Suarez top of manager Unai Emery’s wishlist. Rodriguez is priced at 13/2 to join the Gunners, while Suarez is on offer at 11/8 based on betting sites’ odds in the internet.

However, Real Madrid would prefer Rodriguez to move to Tottenham Hotspur in order to help force through a swap deal for Christian Eriksen, while Barcelona are reluctant to allow Suarez to leave the club.

Jurgen Klopp has repeatedly insisted that he won’t be making any signings during the winter window, but Liverpool continue to be linked with players.

PSV Eindhoven attacker Steven Bergwijn been touted as a possible target, but they are expected to face stiff competition from Manchester United for his services.

The Red Devils are actively searching for new recruits, although they appear set to leave the chase for a top class centre-half until the summer.

Spurs are currently struggling for options in attack, with Harry Kane and Dele Alli both out injured and Son Heung-min away on Asian Cup duty.

Their main difficulty would be attracting someone to the club who is likely to play second fiddle to Kane when he returns to action and manager Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear he won’t make any panic buys.

Reigning champions Manchester City have missed out on Ajax star Frenkie De Jong, with the midfielder agreeing to sign for Barcelona.

A move for Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele remains on the cards, although City may have to wait until summer before they can complete a deal.
