They say that having a baby is one of the most painful experiences that a woman can go through, so why not try and make it a bit more fun for everyone involved?

This is exactly the thought process that went through the head of 26 year old mum-to-be Aimee Smith from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Aimee decided to wear a Chewbacca mask that actively changed her voice to Wookie.
Here intention was to keep the midwife and her 36 year old partner Michael Ogden calm during the process and it seems like the results had the desired effect judging from the video below as Ogden can’t stop pissing himself when he’s asking her if she’s doing OK:
Jokes. Aimee said the following about her idea:
I bought the mask and thought I’d put it on as a joke – the midwives looked at me like I was mad.
It was my third and last child, I thought I might as well go out with a bang.
My friends were all shocked – they were all laughing when they saw the video.
They said they thought everyone in the hospital would think I was crazy.
Can you imagine the baby thinking, ‘What the hell is going on?’
You never know, Albie might end up being a Star Wars fan and think it’s the best thing ever.
I mean given that everyone in the world loves Star Wars, it’s safe to say he’ll probably find the video at least amusing. To be honest it’s a pretty good idea in general given the relative horror of labour, so hopefully by putting it on the internet more people might be inspired to have a little ‘fun’ with it rather than just scream and cry for however long it takes.
For more giving birth, check out this really weird video of a man giving birth. Kinda gotta see it to believe it.
