A sex offender who disguised himself as a woman as he dashed down the stairs to assault a teenager in the street has been convicted.

Mark Brown, 30, was caught on CCTV sprinting out of his north London home while still putting the finishing touches to his disguise – which included a mini skirt, tights and silver wig.

It was just after 3:55am and he had spotted the teenager outside his window jogging past the building:

What an absolute freak.

According to Metro, Brown caught up with the teen after following her for about 500m and put his hand on her shoulder, before sexually assaulting her. She began shouting at him and pushing him away, but he shoved her to the floor where she continued kicking and screaming.

He then ran off, and his victim noticed the long silver hair. Police worked with Islington Council to review CCTV from the area and sure enough, they found the freaky footage of Brown’s mad dash down the stairs and onto the street.

Hilariously, when Brown was shown the CCTV footage by police, he denied his involvement and said he believed it was an actual woman. Even though CCTV clearly shows him putting the wig on in his own building.

Detective Constable Giash Uddin says:

Brown is a dangerous sexual predator and I am pleased that the jury agreed with the overwhelming evidence we gathered against him.

Brown was lying in wait, in disguise, ready to pounce on his unsuspecting victim. He has refused to admit his guilt throughout and forced his victim to re-live her traumatic ordeal by going to trial.

I’d like to praise the victim for her courage and cooperation throughout our investigation. I hope that Brown being brought to justice will give her a small measure of comfort and closure.

I’d also like to thank Islington Council for their help with the extensive CCTV enquiries we carried out which identified Brown as the suspect and ultimately saw him get convicted for this heinous crime.

Brown has previously been convicted of seven counts of sexual touching and is on the Sex Offender’s Register, and also breached his licence conditions of not being allowed out between 10pm and 8am as he carried out this latest assault. I guess some people just never learn.
