Even though it’s Christmas, we’re still finding out about absolutely awful things happening to people all over the world.

This time we’re in the small northern Polish village of Parszczyce where a man named Mariusz Sz has been jailed for 25 years after being found guilty of treating his wife in some of the most inhumane ways possible. Sz decided to lock his wife up in the cellar and repeatedly rape her with his brothers, whilst charging other men in the village £4 a go to rape her.
It didn’t stop there though as she was also repeatedly starved and when she was allowed to eat food, this was usually off the floor with her hands tied behind her back or in the form of sandwiches that were filled with semen. I’m not even going to make a joke about the nutrition levels there because it’s truly a rank and horrible image that she’s been exposed to there. Honestly, why would people enjoy treating other people like that?
To make the story even worse, when the woman did finally escape and go to the police, they completely dismissed her story three times before they took her seriously. Thankfully, Mariusz is now in jail after an investigation, but the police are still looking into just how long she was being held captive and how many men in the village raped her. Both of Sz’s brothers are on trial and face 15 years in prison, although they both deny the charges.
