The news about the fake Madeleine McCann Julia Wendell – or Wandelt, or maybe something else? – just keeps coming and coming and even after she had a DNA test proving that she wasn’t the missing girl, the twists and turns in her story are arriving thick and fast.

Today it’s been announced that she’s now the subject of a global investigation being conducted by none other than the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, whatever the hell that means. Surely The O.C. doesn’t have jurisdiction over the whole world?

Anyway, the OCSD recently contacted Polish police in order to execute a search and seizure order against Wandelt, confiscating her mobile phone. Julia apparently handed it over voluntarily and then presumably it was flown back to the O.C. in order to be examined.

Here’s what Department Spokesman Sergeant Mike Woodroof said about the situation:

We are not going to make any comments about the case.

Our investigation is taking a deep look into it and we’re going to let them do their investigative duties and then from that point let the judicial system take over – if it needs to.

Well that’s majorly weird isn’t it? What the hell is going on here? Why on earth would the OCSD need to examine her mobile phone? Really don’t have any clue why that could possibly be an avenue of exploration for them or why they’re even investigating Wandelt in the first place. I’m sure the reason will probably end up being completely outrageous though. Really looking forward to that revelation.

Of course, this news has come courtesy of shady psychic/private investigator Dr Fia Johansson – who Wandelt has already said totally exploited her – so we have to take it with a grain of salt. Maybe it’s just another attempt by Johansson to keep the story in the limelight and get paid for more interesting sound bytes about it? I wouldn’t rule that out.

Meanwhile back in Poland, Wandelt has said she still believes that she might be Madeleine McCann and wants another DNA test. Kinda reminds me of that guy on Catfish who still believed he was dating Katy Perry even after the Catfish admitted she had been lying the whole time to him. Sad.
