I’ve never even heard of this character Huggy Wuggy, but apparently he’s kicking up such a fuss on social media and little kids are getting so scared of him that the police have taken the unusual step or warning parents about him and telling them not to show videos with him in to their children.

If like me you’re unaware of the character of Huggy Wuggy, he was the villain in the video game Poppy Playtime. He’s a massive blue bear with long arms and razor sharp teeth who would kill people by hugging them to death and he’s now turned into something of a meme with videos of him popping up on TikTok and YouTube etc.

Oh my God. I pressed play on that thinking it wasn’t even going to be slightly scary and I was massively shocked by how utterly terrifying that video was. I guess it wasn’t helped by how stressed out the guy playing it was and the two stupid hands that were out in front the whole time, but I can fully understand now why the police have issued a warning about it. Very stressful.

There are videos people have made, songs people have made, and it’s popping up all over YouTube and TikTok using this quite graphic imagery of this bear-like character with razor sharp teeth.
It’s based around jump scares and things you certainly wouldn’t want children exposed to.
If you were to use even YouTube Kids for example, it may slip through because there is nothing obviously sinister about the name of a video.
It really comes down to paying attention to what your children are doing and making sure they are not just trusting YouTube Kids videos are safe because unfortunately with videos like this, things do slip through the cracks.
Yeah, like I said, the guy has got a point as even I found it scary so I dread to think what a little kid would experience when they’re watching it. Whoever created Huggy Wuggy is a serious psychopath. Should maybe arrest him too.
